AFTER THE FLOP- BASICS

Now that the cards have been dealt, we've decided to stay in the pot, and have seen the first three cards (the flop). Here are some basics for actions after we've seen the flop and the betting continues.

CHECK- When there is no bet yet and you decide not to bet because:

You don't have a hand yet

You are not sure of where you stand and will play passively

You have a good hand and will be check-raising

CALL- When a player has bet in front of you and you put that same amount of money in the pot as they did because:

You are not sure if you have a wining hand yet and will play passively

You are slowplaying your winning hand

RAISE - When a player has bet in in front of you and you raise their bet requiring more money to be added by other players who want to stay in the hand because:

You think you have the winning hand

You are bluffing that you have the best hand and are trying to steal the pot

You have a drawing hand to a flush or a straight and are semi-bluffing

FOLD - When a player bets in front of you and you throw away your cards because

You don't have a good enough hand to call any type of bet

As I have said before, you must play VERY TIGHT online. If you don't have a hand and are being raised by another player, chances are that you are beat and you should fold. Yes, they could be bluffing you, but chances are they have a hand and you should move out of the way. You will lose a lot of money if you don't learn the art of folding. Remember, second best hands don't win money!
